Cars

The renter has received the car after verifying that it is in the condition recorded in the contract. VF states that the vehicle has passed the necessary controls on internal and external premises and in mechanical parts; the renter must hand it over to the same condition as received, with all the tools, wheels and accessories, at the agreed point and indicated on the first page of this present document. If the renter does not deliver the car to the specific place and to an employee of the company VFRENT A CAR, he shall be deemed to have abandoned the car with the appropriate legal consequences in the event of damages or a financial debt to the company.

Driver’s age :

Minimum age is 23 years for groups B, C1 and C and 25 for the other groups. Maximum age is 75 years

Driver’s license:

the driver must possess the driver’s license for at least 1 year. If the driver’s license has not been issued in the EU and the UK, the driver must hold an International Driver’s License.

Fines – Administrative charges:

The renter is obligated to comply with the road traffic regulations and to pay any fines deriving from any such violations that occurred during the time of lease even if the above mentioned costs are demandable after the expiration of the lease.

Cancellations:

In case of cancellation 7 days prior to the reservation, the whole amount shall be refunded. In case of cancellation 1 to 6 days prior to the reservation, the renter shall be charged for 1 day. In case of cancellation within less than 24 hours prior to the reservation or no receipt of the vehicle, the whole amount shall be charged.

Kilometres — Mileage:

Our prices include unlimited kilometers.

Road assistance:

All our vehicles are covered by 24-hour road assistance

Accident:

In the event of an accident the renter is obligated to inform our company and the police. Otherwise, the renter is fully responsible.

Minimum rental duration:

The minimum rental duration is 1 day.

Fuel:

The renter is obligated to pay for the gas during his rental and to return the car with the amount of gas he initially received it. If the car is returned with more fuel, no amount is refunded.

Lease extension:

If the renter wishes to extend the lease, he shall inform the company 24 hours prior to the initial date of return and our company shall accept his request based on the current availability of vehicles.

Replacement of vehicle:

In the event of an accident / defect resulting in the immobilization of the vehicle, the car will be replaced within 24 hours from the time the accident / injury was reported. Our company has the right to investigate the causes of the accident / damage and to refuse to replace the car if the use of the car was contrary to the terms and conditions of the contract

Change of car type:
Our company preserves the right to offer a vehicle of a different type from the one mentioned in the initial agreement , according to its availability at the time of the lease.

TAXES:
All our prices include VAT 24%.

Extra accommodations/ charges:

• Child’s seat:FREE
• Additional driver: FREE
• Road map: FREE
• GPS: 3 Euros / day according to current availability
• Cleaning of the car when it is return dirty beyond the limits of this agreement e.g. when it has been on roads of tar or sand etc.

Obligations – Other terms:

• The renter has the obligation to protect the car, to control its mechanical condition, oil, water, etc during the time of the rental. He should also check the condition of the tires and if the car is safe to move. The renter is responsible and is obligated to compensate the company for damages resulting from a lack of attention. He also has to lock the car properly in an appropriate and secure place.
• If the renter returns the car within 2 hours later than the agreed time he shall be charged for the whole day.
• During the lease the car shall not be used:

1)In breach of this agreement. 2) to carry passengers or goods on a fee. 3) to carry more passengers than prescribed by the contract 4) to carry heavy goods or foul goods or drugs 5) For towing another car or trailer 6) In special car races 7)By  any person under the influence of alcohol or drugs 8) By any person without the prior authorization of the company. 9) For any purpose contrary to the Greek Laws 10) Outside the premises of  Crete without the written consent of the company.

• The company shall not be liable for loss or damage of the customer’s possessions, which are in the car, whether or not they have been abandoned at the premises before or after the contract.
• The company has the right to cancel the lease without any consequences if the renter is considered harmful for the interest of the company or does not comply with the road traffic regulations and violates the terms of this agreement.
• The court of the city of the Chania is responsible for or any dispute resulting from this lease

INSURANCE PROVISIONS:

– bodily damage to third parties and passengers.

– Material losses of third parties

– Material Damages by an uninsured vehicle

– Fire insurance

– Theft insurance

– CDW insurance with 500 € excess amount.

ADDITIONAL COSTS:                                                                                                                                                                 

– Glass breaking insurance 3,00 €/day

– Full insurance (FCDW) with additional charge 13,00 €/day (provided after contacting our company)

– Additional Insurance with an excess amount 250 € with charge 6,00 € /day

THE INSURANCE IS NOT APPLICABLE TO THE FOLLOWING SITUATIONS:

– inside and under the car as well as the tires;

– when the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs;

– damage caused by an unauthorized driver,

– loss-damage or theft of vehicle keys,

– damages caused on unauthorized roads such as beaches, unsuitable roads, mountains, etc.

–  engine damage due to incorrect fuel use

– if the car is illegally parked

– Partial or total theft if the car is not locked

With his signature the renter accepts the insurance and is responsible for any accident that will occur to individuals other than himself, thus,  VF RENT A CAR has no liability.

TRANSACTION SECURITY:

All payments made using the card are processed through the electronic payment platform of “Alpha e-Commerce” of Alpha Bank and uses TLS 1.2 encryption protocol encryption with 128-bit (Secure Sockets Layer – SSL). Encryption is a way of coding the information until it reaches its recipient, who will be able to decode it using the appropriate key.
